The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Sankt Augustin e.V. Company Sports Association (formerly: GMD Company Sports Association) was founded in 1971 to enable employees of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and their families to participate in various sports. The Company Sports Association is organized into the following departments for the various sports:
The sport association is member of the Sankt Augustin City Sports Association, the Bonn Regional Sports Association (Betriebssport-Kreisverband Bonn) and ithe Association of Sports Clubs of European Research Institutions (ASCERI).
